Hi, I’m Maddie May—but my friends call me Maddie!

I’m a beautiful 8-year-old sweetheart who came to DLRR when my
previous owner had to move out of the country and couldn’t take me
along. While that was a big change, I’ve settled into foster life
beautifully and am ready to find my forever family.

My foster mom says I have the gentlest nature and calls me “the
sweetest girl in the world”—and I have to admit, I do love living
up to that title. I absolutely adore people, especially kids, and I’m
happiest when I’m soaking up snuggles, pets, and attention. I may not
technically be a lap dog, but don’t tell me that—if you’ve
got a lap, I’ll do my best to fit right into it!  I love toys,
antlers to chew on and simply being the best companion to my
humans. 

I’m well-trained, have lovely manners, and walk nicely on a leash (I
like to think I do a pretty good job guiding my humans). I’m currently
working on getting back into my healthiest shape, so I’ll need a family
who can keep me on a routine of regular walks, balanced meals, and limited
treats. I do love to play catch, so some ball throwing would be great! 
I'm a great catcher and will drop it at your feet to start again.

I also enjoy my downtime—curling up on the couch for a cozy nap is
one of my favorite pastimes (with your permission, of course!). I could
happily live as your one-and-only pup or share my home with other dogs.
