Tessa

Tessa

Tessa’s name reflects her nature—she has a remarkable way of
gathering friends wherever she goes, both human and canine. This 5-year-old,
approximately 90-pound purebred chocolate Labrador is affectionate, social,
and ready to find her forever home.

Tessa joined DLRR from a breeder, where she had three litters of puppies.
Now spayed, she is enjoying a well-deserved chapter focused on companionship,
play, and relaxation. She is a loving and attentive dog who seeks out
affection, often offering a gentle nudge in exchange for a pat.

She enjoys playtime and especially loves toys of all kinds, from squeaky
toys to tennis balls. Tessa is housebroken and understands basic commands
such as sit, stay, and come. She is eager to please and has made great
progress with mealtime manners.

Tessa has a charming habit of vocalizing along with sirens she hears,
whether outside or on television. She settles easily into a home environment
and is happy to relax on the couch or curl up in a bed at night.

She gets along well with other dogs and has enjoyed time playing and
resting with her foster sister, though she would also be content as the only
dog in the home. While initially unsure about cats, she has learned to
coexist comfortably with them.

Tessa does well in the car and walks nicely on leash. She is strong but
responsive to correction. Food and enrichment activities are highlights of
her day, and she especially enjoys healthy treats—her favorite being a
full-sized carrot after dinner.

Tessa is a truly special dog. If she sounds like the companion
you’ve been waiting for, please contact her foster to arrange a
visit.
