Lucille

On a scale of one to ten on the cuteness factor, Lucille (we call her
Lucy) is a 9 ½. People who meet her say she endearing whether
she’s flashing her beautiful golden eyes, prancing around the yard with
her spotted toes, or rolling over for a belly rub. Her engaging
personality will win you over because she’s extremely friendly and
loveable. Her tail wags like the steady beat on a metronome. Even
though she’s a two year old spayed female Lab mix, Lucy has a few
puppy-like behaviors we have been working on regarding her level of
engagement with her humans and four legged friends. She is a quick
learner, responds well to correction and has that wonderful Lab quality of
wanting to please. She weighs sixty-four pounds and often displays her
exuberant personality without knowing her own strength so small children and
small dogs would not be a good fit for her. She has energy to burn so
she’ll need daily exercise and an owner who is committed to setting
boundaries and providing structure. Lucy enjoys her down time too and
camps out on her dog bed. She loves toys, plays energetically with
other dogs and walks great on a K9 transitional leash – no leash
reactivity. She knows the command sit, is potty trained and rides well in a
car. She sleeps in her crate at night. She'll thrive in an active home
with older kids or adults who can keep up with her zest for life while
providing plenty of enrichment. A large yard for her to run would be
ideal.
