Dude
Meet Dude!
Dude narrowly escaped euthanasia at a small, under-resourced shelter that
could house only 20 dogs at a time. With a constant influx of stray dogs,
each dog had only a few days to find a second chance. Thankfully, one of
DLRR's new rescue partners stepped in, giving Dude the opportunity to
begin his journey toward finding the loving forever home he deserves.
Dude is a fun, affectionate, intelligent, and house-trained young dog. He
figured out which door to use for potty breaks almost immediately and has
settled into home life with ease.
He already knows several basic commands, including Sit, Stay, Come, and
Lay Down. Like many young dogs, he's still learning to manage his
excitement and may occasionally jump up or get a little mouthy, but he
responds very well to verbal cues and redirection. For his age, Dude already
has excellent manners and is eager to please.
At bedtime, Dude prefers sleeping on the dog bed beside his foster's
bed rather than in a crate. He's been a perfect overnight guest—no
wandering, chewing, or getting into mischief.
One of Dude's favorite parts of the day is his morning walk. He walks
nicely on leash without pulling, although he enjoys zigzagging a bit as he
investigates all the interesting smells along the way. When he sees other
dogs, he's curious but polite, showing interest without barking or
pulling excessively.
Around the house, Dude loves Kongs, squeaky toys, and chewing on a bone
now and then. He's playful, affectionate, eager to learn, and clearly
grateful for his second chance.
If you're looking for a smart, loving companion who's ready to
become part of the family, Dude is waiting to meet you.
