Gator
Meet Gator!
At 101 pounds, Gator is a whole lot of Lab and somehow still convinced
he's lap-dog sized. This handsome 7-year-old black Lab has the softest,
shiniest coat, the kindest heart, and a zest for life that is impossible not
to love.
Gator loves going for walks, swimming, and spending time with his people.
Water is definitely one of his favorite things, and if there's an
opportunity to swim, Gator is all in.
Wondering how he got the name Gator? Between his love of tug-of-war and
his passion for swimming, it seems pretty fitting. Whether he's carrying
around a favorite toy or enjoying a swim, Gator approaches life with
enthusiasm and joy. He also loves playing with his foster dad and foster fur
brother and is happiest when he's included in whatever fun is
happening.
Gator has settled beautifully into foster care and has proven himself to
be an easy, trustworthy houseguest. He is housebroken, dog door trained, and
sleeps quietly right next to the bed all night without making a sound. Crates
aren't really his thing, but honestly, he doesn't need one. He's
proven that he can be trusted in the home.
Even better, Gator gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids,
making him a great fit for many different families.
Like many Labs, Gator could stand to lose a few pounds, but his future
family is getting the easy version of a weight-loss journey. He already loves
to walk, loves to swim, and a little exercise goes a long way with him. In
fact, he's already shed a few pounds in foster care without anyone really
trying. How lucky is that?
And until he reaches his ideal weight, his adorable little waddle is
pretty hard to resist.
Gator is simply a happy, affectionate dog who loves being with his people
and making the most out of every day. If you're looking for a loyal
companion, a walking buddy, a swimming partner, and a best friend all wrapped
into one very handsome package, Gator just might be your guy.
