Stanley

Stanley

Chocolate Lab mothers tell all their puppies that a loving family is
waiting for them when they grow up.  For most of them that is certainly
true.  For me, I have been waiting nine years for that to come
true.  My name is Stanley and this is my story.
A few months back I was found wondering the streets with a dislocated back
hip by some loving folks from DLRR, hopping around using only my three good
legs.  They hooked me up with some great doctors who fixed my hip and
even left me with a really cool scar.  Now I'm taking 2-3 thirty
minute walks every day.  Besides belly rubs it's my favorite part of
the day!

The best part of my rehab has been spending time with my foster mom and
dad.  I feel bad for my foster dad, the poor guy.  He can't
even go to the bathroom by himself without me following him.  At night,
you will find me camped out next to my foster mom on the couch while they
watch TV.  They complain sometimes about having to turn the volume up
because they say I snore.  It has never bothered me before, who
knows? To be honest, I've got two issues I'm working on to be a
better pup.  Given my history and how cool my foster parents are, I
don't really like being left alone.  It's a trust issue, but
I'm getting better.  I also tend to get excited around other
dogs.  Long story better left for my foster dad to tell.

I do have this funny feeling the last few chapters of this story will end
up being pretty special.  My life will end up being so much better if I
can share it  with someone who loves me as much as I will love them,
just like my mom told me would happen!
