Ranger

When you meet Ranger you can’t help but smile back at his beautiful face. This 5-year-old, 70 pound yellow Lab has truly mastered the art of joy—his smile is as big as his heart.  Ranger loves the outdoors and his walking skills are improving greatly, especially when on a transitional leash.. Once he gets past that first burst of excitement he becomes a smooth, steady walker who’s a pleasure to stroll with. He’s fully housebroken and has become the perfect houseguest—bright, respectful, and eager to please. Ranger knows his basic commands (sit, stay, lay down) and responds quickly to “no.” He goes into his kennel when asked, but at this stage there really is no need for him to spend time there.  He is also a big car ride fan!

Ranger’s #1 love in life is to cuddle with his people at the end of day.  He is also a big water lover and would be thrilled to have some supervised pool time in his new home. A few laps in the pool and a game of fetch would be his dream day—he’d play all afternoon if you let him!  Ranger doesn’t always know his limits when it comes to the heat.  He’ll happily keep playing all day long and may have the potential to overheat more quickly than his peers.  Please talk to his foster for more information about how to keep this happy boy safe and comfortable during warm weather playtime.

While cats are a “no go” for Ranger, he has gotten along well with other dogs and we would be happy to test him with potential furry siblings to ensure a great fit.  He also likes the kidos, especially the ones he can’t knock over when he gets a little excited chasing one of his balls.

To know Ranger’s story is to understand why he has so much love and joy bottled up inside to share.  Do yourself a favor and take the time to meet this guy, you will be glad you did!
