Gator
Gator is a 7-year-old black Lab who has settled into foster care like
he's lived there forever. He's easy to have around, happy to be part
of whatever you're doing, and just enjoys life.
His favorite things are pretty simple…walks, swimming, tug-of-war, and
hanging out with his people. If there's water nearby, he'll happily
jump in. If you grab a toy, he's ready for a game. And if you're
relaxing at home, he's perfectly content just being close.
He's housebroken, uses the dog door, sleeps quietly next to the bed
all night, and has proven he doesn't need a crate. His foster family
trusts him with free run of the house, and he's been an excellent
houseguest from day one.
Gator has also done great with the other dogs in his foster home, cats,
and kids. He's an easygoing guy who enjoys having friends…both
two-legged and four-legged.
Like many Labs, Gator arrived carrying a little extra weight, but he's
already lost 14 pounds in foster care simply because he loves getting
out for walks and swimming. He still has a little more to lose, but he
certainly doesn't let that slow him down.
If you're wondering where the name "Gator" came from, watch
him play tug once and you'll understand. Between his determined grip and
his love of the water, it fits him pretty well.
Gator is one of those dogs who doesn't ask for much. Give him a family
to love, a few walks, a swim now and then, and a soft spot to sleep, and
he'll be one happy Lab. If you're looking for a loyal companion
who's as comfortable joining you on an adventure as he is relaxing at
home, Gator would love to meet you.
