Zues
Introducing Zues, a cheerful and affectionate addition for families seeking a devoted canine companion. This striking seven-year-old, 90-pound silver purebred Labrador Retriever is in good health, up to date on vaccinations, and neutered. Zues has experience living with children and interacts well; however, older children are preferable due to his size and strength, which may inadvertently cause him to knock over younger children. He has not cohabited with cats but does not demonstrate a prey drive. Although his exposure to other dogs has been limited, his previous owner reported that he generally prefers smaller dogs, as he may display dominant behavior towards larger dogs.
Zues requires guidance and patience in learning good leash manners during walks since he pulls some out of excitement. He is highly motivated by treats, which should facilitate improvement in this area. He enjoys daily walks and playing fetch. Zues is housebroken and is acclimating to crate use; he is not destructive indoors or outdoors and previously used a doggie door.
He was surrendered to our care following the arrival of a new baby, which led to some marking behavior inside the home. Since being under DLRR’s supervision, this behavior has not reoccurred. With consistent guidance, proper exercise, and a nurturing environment, it is expected that Zues will discontinue any undesirable habits.
According to veterinary recommendations, Zues should lose approximately fifteen to twenty pounds and is currently on a reduced kibble diet. Increased activity and regular playtime should assist with his weight management. Zues is a good natured Lab in search of his permanent family to ring in the New Year. Are you that family?!
