Tru

Tru

If you’ve been waiting for a pup who’s equal parts charming, resilient, and downright adorable… Tru might just be the girl for you.

Tru is an approximately 6-year-old purebred red Labrador with a story as special as her sweet face. Born with a cleft lip that’s so subtle most people never notice, she couldn’t be sold by her breeder and
instead grew up with a loving family member who cared for her deeply but could no longer keep her due to life changes.

Because Tru spent many of her early years outdoors, she developed a few “survival mode” habits—but wow, has she come a long way! She’s proven herself to be smart, eager, adaptable, and so appreciative of every bit of love and security she’s given.

Tru is:

Friendly on walks: Tru thinks everyone she meets is a
friend—and she’s usually right.
Champion swimmer: No, really. Olympic-level. She would
happily swim multiple times a day if given the chance.
A quiet companion: Tru barely ever barks, but when she does,
there’s always a good reason.
Petting enthusiast: Compliments + gentle pets = Tru’s
version of winning the lottery.
Sleep pro: She snoozes soundly all night long—whether
in her kennel or on a plush dog bed beside her humans.
Cuddle-in-training: She’s learning the art of
snuggling and is making adorable progress.
Car-ride friendly: A few minutes to settle and then
she’s cool, calm, and along for the adventure.
Kitchen manners: She’s not a counter-surfer, though
like all Labs, food is still pretty magical to her.

Tru is asymptomatic for valley fever, and her medication helps keep
everything in check while she continues to be monitored. She’s
thriving, happy, and full of life.

Who She’s Hoping to Find:

Tru would shine in a home with a gentler, slower pace—one where she can continue to grow her confidence and enjoy the predictable routine she loves. She adapts beautifully, learns quickly, and bonds deeply. Several neighbors have even mistaken her for a puppy on walks thanks to her bright eyes and great energy!

At just 54 pounds, she’s the perfect “pretty lil girl” size—and she knows it. Sit with her, she will cross her legs like a lady, tell her she’s beautiful, give her a little scratch behind the ears, and Tru will absolutely melt.
