Meet Louie – Your Freckled Adventure Buddy 

Louie is a 9-month-old yellow Lab mix with the cutest freckled face and a
heart that is 100% pure sunshine. This sweet boy had a rough detour when he
was found outside a homeless shelter, but thankfully kind volunteers knew
immediately—this was a family dog who just needed a second chance.

When Louie first arrived, he was a little unsure of the world
(under-socialized puppies sometimes are), but oh my goodness… once he
warms up, his zest for life absolutely shines. He is full of joyful puppy
enthusiasm, curiosity, and tail-wagging optimism.

On leash, Louie zigzags like he’s trying to sniff every story the
world has to tell. He pulls a bit—not because he’s reactive
(he’s wonderfully non-reactive to other dogs!)—but because
everything is exciting and he wants to experience it all at once. With
continued puppy training and consistency, he’s going to be an amazing
walking partner.

He’s been introduced to another dog and proved to be a fantastic
playmate! Because he has the strength and exuberance of a growing Lab boy,
he’d do best with a confident, playful sibling rather than a tiny or
older dog who may not appreciate his bouncy enthusiasm.

Louie LOVES:

• Fetch sessions in the yard

• Hiking and outdoor adventures

• Sniffing absolutely everything

• Snuggling up with his humans after a full day of fun

He does show interest in birds, ducks, and geese on hikes (future wildlife
enthusiast, perhaps!), but he hasn’t been around cats yet.

Louie is still a little unsure about hopping into the car and currently
needs a boost, but with continued exposure and encouragement, we’re
confident he’ll gain that independence in no time. Once he’s in,
he settles nicely and rides well.

Louie is looking for a family who will invest in his continued training,
nurture his confidence, and guide him as he grows into the incredible adult
dog he’s meant to be. In return, he’ll give you loyalty,
laughter, adventure, and the sweetest snuggles.
