Jack

My name’s Jack and I am the most loyal and smart companion you could
ever want! I think I was supposed to be a “Bird” dog but now I am
a “Ball” dog. I love to play fetch and I bring the ball right
back. I especially love to dive into the pool for it. I can also find that
ball anywhere, even if it goes deep into a bush where all you can see is my
little wagging stub of a tail! I’m told it’s really cute but I
can’t really see it anymore! My fur is short and easy to care for. I
dry quickly when it is time to go inside.

When I am inside, I like to be near my people. I am trained to use my
special doggie door to go potty outside. I am excited to announce that I
don’t have to wear those silly pants anymore! I guess I have a thing
called diabetes insipidous which makes me really thirsty and have to pee a
lot. I used to then dribble a little inside without even knowing it! NOW, I
get peanut butter 3 times a day and I don’t dribble anymore! I think
Mom & Dad might hide something in it to help me.

I have been with DLRR for over a year now and I am really ready to find my
furever home. I am 4 years old, neutered, and weigh 70 pounds. Once I get my
exercise, I settle down in the house for loving companionship. I have been
very gentle with a 2-year-old toddler that comes to visit occasionally.
I’ve even taught her how to play fetch too! Sometimes I have stayed at
other homes for short times and everyone falls in love with me! I have lived
with dogs, but I’m really more interested in my people. I see other
dogs on walks but I am not interested in meeting them. I am more interested
in the bunnies. I sleep through the night on a dog bed but I would really
like to be in the big bed to cuddle with my people! I am crate trained,
however, when my people leave me, they don’t crate me anymore and I
have been a very good boy. Unless, of course, something tasty is left within
my reach. Hey, can you blame me?

I’m anxious to meet my forever family to show them how much joy I
