Charley
Meet Charley, a 7 month old, petite, charcoal puppy. She is 45 lbs
of total sweetness! Rescued from a bad situation by a good Samaritan,
Charley was surrendered to DLRR because her owner worked long hours and felt
she couldn’t give Charley enough attention. Everyone who meets
this adorable dog falls in love immediately! For a puppy, her house
behaviors are really good—she is happy to occupy herself playing with
squeaky toys (occasionally performing surgery on them) and chewing on
bones. If she does pick up the odd no-no item like a tissue from the
trash or a sock, she gives it up quickly. Charley crates easily and
sleeps through most nights with only the occasional trip outside. She
is incredibly affectionate –she loves pets and will soak up as many as
you can give. She also gives great kisses! It seems Charley
hasn’t been exposed to a lot outside of a house because on walks she is
easily startled by cars, bikes, lawn workers, etc. but she recovers
fast. She loves her walks and is easy on the leash. She has met
children ages 17 months and 5 years and was very gentle, giving sweet licks
to both, but she was definitely in their faces which was bothersome to
them. Older children would be ideal for her. Charley would really
love to have a canine companion to teach her the ropes and to play with and
she is also playful with cats. Please text her foster if you would like
to meet her!
