Fisher
Hello, my name is Fisher. I am so happy DLRR came to my rescue and put me
in an amazing foster home where I am gaining confidence and learning how to
be a fun dog. When I was picked up from PACC, I was afraid of everything. My
foster mom had to drag me to her car, pick me up into the car and pull me out
of the car when we got home. But within four hours I was feeling relaxed and
little safe. I slept that night like I had never slept before. My foster mom
gave me a very soft bed with lots of blankets but I didn’t know what to
do with that until my foster mom put me in the bed and gave me lots of
reassurance that it was okay. Well, I was hooked! I love that bed now.
I also was unsure about walking into the house but with reassurance I did
that too. I also was afraid to eat but I foster mom would sit on the floor
with me and give me kibble one at a time while reassuring me I was allowed to
eat and not be afraid. My foster mom has food in a bowl 24/7 so I eat
whenever I feel hungry. I just take nibbles here and there. Just enough to
satisfy me but at least now my foster mom doesn’t have to sit with me
or hand feed me. Within 3 days I realized I hit the jackpot and started
feeling very comfortable in my foster home and started chasing a ball and
getting the zoomies. I also feel comfortable snuggling up to my foster mom
when we sit in the grass together. She laughs at me because I do this leaning
thing on her. I have come along way in my foster home in a very short amount
of time. I want to love and trust, I just need someone who is extremely
patient and willing to give me time to decompress and be slow with me at
first. At home I walk around happy with my tail wagging and get very
excited when my foster mom comes home from work. I do not jump on her, I just
lean and wag my tail really fast. But as far as I have come in my foster
home, I am still scared when she takes me for walks, in the car, to the store
or the vet. I get very nervous. But while at the vet getting a check up
(guess what, I am a very healthy boy) I was nervous at first but the vet was
very nice and I started to wag my tail at her. I think with more of these
outings I could get used to them because I want to be a good boy and make you
happy. I have so so so much love to give that I am bursting at the seams, I
just need you to give me a chance. You will be very happy you did. I can be
with other dogs, but they need to be very passive and kinda not too
interested in me at first. My foster sister is easy going and let’s me
do my own thing, but I do like to follow her around and be by her side. We
love to sunbathe together. But I would also do just find being your one and
only. My foster mom had to go to work just two days after picking me up and
she left me in the house alone (but watched me on the cameras) and she told
me I was a good boy because I didn’t do anything wrong the whole day. I
didn’t chew on anything, I didn’t get in the trash, I
didn’t have any potty accidents. I mostly just slept. I am curious
about cats, but I have not chased them or anything. But my foster mom says
she thinks there could be potential I am too interested so it is best I
don’t live with cats. My foster mom’s house is kind of busy
with teenagers and sometimes their friends and I was totally good with all of
them. I hung out with them in the backyard. My foster mom also says I do a
cute little “ruff” for a bark. It is very quiet and soft. If you
think you are ready to be completely loved and adored by a scared pup who
will be sure to blossom with love and patience, I am your guy. I will lab
love you until the end of time and be the best boy ever.
