My name is Darth, which mean “dark” and that I am. I am a stunner of a black Lab, with a shiny, raven coat.  I am 6 years old and weigh approximately 80 lbs. I am good with older children; pre-teen and above. I have never seen a cat, however I am very alert to quick movements such as birds and lizards on walks, so I may not be best in a house with a cat. I do love to go on walks and hikes and enjoy meeting new people while I’m out. I’m housebroken, non-destructive and enjoy relaxing in the house. I’ve never lived with small dogs but do fine meeting them on walks. Before coming to DLRR I didn’t have much structure or training, but I have recently completed my version of canine charm school and have learned to be the best boy!  My trainer has worked on my leash manners, socialization, impulse control and says I’m such a delight. She is the best and will also help my transition into a new home. I can be assertive and pushy and will need a strong dog savvy leader, someone who will be able to continue with my training and provide the consistent leadership I need. I would do better in a home with female dogs and / or neutered males.
