Meet Teddy – Your Loyal & Loving Adventure Buddy!

Hi! I’m Teddy, an 8-year-old, 80-pound chocolate lab with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I may be a little older, but I still have plenty of pep in my step! My glossy coat, soulful eyes, and friendly personality make me a favorite with my foster family.

I had a good life with my previous family, including little kids who adored me. But as their lives got busier, they realized I wasn’t getting the attention I deserve. Now, I’m on the lookout for my perfect forever home—one where I’ll be the center of someone’s world.

Why I’m an Amazing Companion:

Great on a leash – I walk nicely but feel protective of my person, so I do best with space from strangers and other dogs.
House-trained & well-mannered – I know how to use a dog door and never have accidents inside.
 Loves car rides – Road trip? Count me in! I settle in quickly and enjoy the ride.
Playful but relaxed – I love to play but also know how to unwind when it’s time to chill.
Swimming enthusiast – If there’s water, I’m in! Swimming is one of my favorite things to do.
Dog-friendly with the right match – I enjoy playdates and might do well with a compatible dog (no cats).

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

Countersurfing expert – If it’s within reach and looks tasty, I’ll probably help myself (sorry, not sorry!).
Excitable with Sudden Environmental Changes – I can occasionally have big feelings when I’m surprised by new people or when they enter my home.  A strong, confident owner who understands this and is willing to continue training is essential.

When you meet me, we can go over the best way to introduce me to new people. It’s not complicated—I usually end up loving everyone I meet within minutes! But you must be committed to the process to help me feel safe. My foster family and trainer will be more than happy to guide you through this. They always say, I’m worth every minute it takes to help me succeed!

My Ideal Home:

A calm, structured environment with someone who is home often.
A patient and experienced owner willing to continue my training and confidence-building.

In a familiar, comfortable setting, he’s an absolute dream dog! Teddy’s foster families—and everyone at DLRR—adore him. DLRR’s foster and trainer will assist in the transition.
