Hello there!  My name is Rasta, and I’m a 55 pound, petite, approximately 4-year-old black male looking for my forever home.  My past is a bit of a mystery since I was a stray.  I tested positive for heartworms but DLRR made sure I received the necessary treatment and I endured it like a champ!   Now I’m healthy and hoping to find a family who will give me the chance to be part of their lives and show them just how special I am.  Despite my rough start, I haven’t lost my loving spirit.  I’m a friendly, affectionate boy who adores being around people.  I’m a cuddle bug at heart, always ready to snuggle up for some quality time and belly rubs.  I thrive on attention and affection, and I’ll happily shower you with cuddles and kisses whenever you’re near.  I also have a playful side and I’m always ready for fun!  Some of my favorite activities include, going for walks, playing fetch, playing with my foster brother, playing fetch, riding in the car and playing fetch!   Tennis balls are my absolute favorite toy and I hope my new home has an endless supply and a yard where I can show off my skills.  I’m pretty sure I could play fetch all day but when you get tired of playing, I’ll just keep my ball safe with me until you’re ready to play again.  I get along great with the dogs in my foster home.   I enjoy playing with the younger two and I’m respectful of the old guy here.   As much as I enjoy playing with the dogs here, my real love is people (and tennis balls) so I wouldn’t mind being the only dog.  I’m not sure how I would do with cats.  I love to take walks and I’m really working on my leash manners.  I tend to get excited when I see other dogs but I’m learning to keep my cool.  My foster mom says I remind her of Tigger because I can jump straight up in the air, as if I have springs on my feet!  A yard with a tall fence would be the best for me.  I found housebreaking to be a bit of a challenge but with frequent trips outside, I’ve been accident free for quite some time.  I’m not destructive in the house, I don’t counter surf or get on furniture….well, unless you’re on it but then I’m just trying to get in your lap, so that doesn’t count….right?  I’m very smart and eager to please and I love to show off what I know for treats.  My foster mom is impressed by how fast I can sit for a treat!  If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion to join your family, look no further than Rasta!  I know I can blossom into the perfect furry friend.  Call my foster mom to learn more and see if we’re the perfect match!
