Moose Dear Santa,It’s me, writing my very first letter to you! My name is Moose, and I’m a 5-year-old, 90-pound purebred Chocolate Lab. I’ve never written to you before, but my foster mom has been telling me all about you, and she says if there’s something I really, really hope for, you might be able to help.So here goes, Santa: What I really, really want this year is a home. A real home with a family who will love me. I’ve heard that homes are warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and come with cozy beds just for dogs like me. They even have toys and, best of all, people who give you love and belly rubs. That sounds like the best thing ever.I had a home once, but things changed and my human knew I deserved better, so he reached out to Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue to find me a family to love. I’m so thankful he did because I have been saving up A LOT of love.My foster mom says I need to be on my best behavior to get what I wish for. And, Santa, I promise I’m trying so hard! I’m a joyful guy, just like Labradors are supposed to be, and I want to make people happy. I’m learning what’s expected of me, and my foster mom and trainer say I’m a quick learner. I have come SO far in a very short time. She will also tell you that I am a big, goofy, hunk of nothing but love–I like the sound of that.I have been walking with a gentle leader or a transitional leash and I am doing so well. This works great for me because I am a big guy and it helps me be at my best. I learned to take yummy treats gently and to stay off (no jumping even for sloppy kisses). I am excited to learn all the new things, I promise, with love and guidance, I’ll get the hang of it! Foster mom says I should probably spend some time in a kennel when I’m not supervised at first, just to help me be at my best. I LOVE to be with people so if they could be home with me a lot, that would be so amazing.I should mention that I used to live with another dog, and we were best friends. I’d love a home with another dog to play with, but honestly, I’d be just as happy soaking up all the love myself. Kids are super fun friends too! I am a big exuberant boy so I might be a lot for the littlest ones (and maybe for kitties too). I have been seeing some new places. We go in a car to parks any funny windows that have treats. I like it and I am calm on my rides, but I have to wear a seatbelt because I would most like to give kisses and sit up front and I guess that not allowed when we are driving–huh.Santa, I have so much love to give. I’m dreaming there’s someone out there wishing for a big, goofy, loyal boy like me this Christmas. If you could help us find each other, it would be the best gift ever.Love,Moose
