Hi, I’m Maiya!

My foster mom says I should’ve been named Dumbo because of my big, floppy ears — they stick out in the most adorable way!

I’m a 7-year-old yellow Lab with a heart full of love. I spent my whole life with one wonderful family who adored me, but after my owner passed away, my world changed. I miss them dearly, but I’m ready to find my next forever family to love just as deeply.

I’m a gentle, calm, and affectionate girl who especially bonds with the women in my life. My favorite thing is to follow you from room to room just to make sure I’m close by. I love ear scratches and back rubs (especially right above my tail — that’s the magic spot!), and I’ll even do a happy little dance when you get it just right.

I get along well with other dogs and, according to my previous family, with cats too! I don’t play much with other dogs, but I’m perfectly content to just coexist peacefully. I’ve also been around kids of all ages and stay calm even when they get a little wild.

I’m housebroken, use a doggie door, and don’t need a crate — I’m trustworthy on my own and never destructive. I do get a little sad when left alone, but I settle down after a bit. I’ll bark when someone’s at the door but am otherwise a quiet companion.

I’m about 65 pounds and tall for my size, healthy, and I have a great appetite! I enjoy my walks (we’re still working on my leash manners), and I love being wherever you are — on the couch, by your feet, or greeting you good morning with a wagging tail.
