Meet Luna, the ultimate good girl looking for her forever family!  This 58 pound, 3-year-old spayed black Lab mix is the perfect combo of playful and sweet!  At times she can be super exuberant and zoom around the yard, and other times she is leaning in for pets and following us around the house.  Luna is a great houseguest in her current foster home.  She is fully housebroken.  She found the dog door in our house without even being shown and she goes in and out of it at will.  Luna doesn’t get into anything she shouldn’t when we are home, but we do crate her when we leave, just to be on the safe side.  She sleeps loose in the house at night and doesn’t make a peep (well, except maybe for a few snores) until we stir in the morning.  She jumps right in the car and rides nicely, sitting up and looking out the window the whole time.  Her BIG claim to fame is how amazing she is to take on walks-she doesn’t pull and she ignores other dogs, birds and ducks!  Luna would be a great dog to take jogging.  Commands like sit, down, and wait, are in Luna’s repertoire!  She is very smart and eager to please, so she could learn more quite quickly, we think. Luna is super affectionate and loves belly rubs.  The white patch on her tummy is an unexpected, adorable feature!   Her fur is soft and fluffy and her soft, brown eyes are beautiful.  One area Luna will need work in is learning not to jump up on us when we come home or other people when they come over.  Although she is good with young children, their activity level is likely to get her too ramped up, so we suggest children 10 and up.  When introduced to the pool, Luna was happy to get on the baja step but wasn’t interested in going any farther.  Perhaps if her loved ones were in the pool, she could be persuaded.  Luna will occasionally alert bark, but she is definitely on the quieter side.

Luna is happy to play with other dogs at the dog park and at the house when they visit, but she doesn’t enjoy having them around 24/7, so we are looking for a home for her that doesn’t have any other dogs.  But with this dog, who needs another one?!  She is a wonderful, affectionate, smart  and loyal companion.
