Jax Sweet, calm, solid, steady companion. Jax possesses these traits and he is loving and well-behaved to boot. Life threw him a curve ball (the family who raised him was in crisis and could no longer care for him) and he is running with it. What else would you expect from a 90 lb., 8- year-old Lab? Jax enjoys walks, belly rubs, and napping. He is beyond the puppy/junior antics, although his playful side is emerging and needs coaxing. Massaging his head may earn you a lean in or a paw tap. He wants to share his Zen moments. He will pick up the energy and pace at walk time. He is alert to critters (large and small) and people, however after a curiosity slow down or stop he will move on. He walks well on a leash. House-trained, non-destructive, no jumping, trusted to roam indoors, no counter surfing, sleeps throughout the night and loves people. What more could you ask for? He gives a few alert barks, rides well in the car, knows basic commands and shares life with a chill foster brother. Jax steps out every morning for his walk with enthusiasm and energy. Hey, attitude and measured feedings are everything when you need to maintain your weight. His dry skin, some hair thinning and loss (patches on flanks and belly) and the thickened skin on his paw pads (hyperkeratosis) does not appear interfere with his activity or well-being. He is aged to perfection. Jax would thrive in a home where his people are around most of the time. A home that will help him stay active and healthy. He would do well with an easy-going canine companion or as an only dog. Old soul, well-mannered Jax is ready for his new family. A family that will welcome him, love him and make him feel secure. He will be a loyal and affectionate companion in return. Are you ready for him? Text his foster mom.
