Dexter Roses are red, my eyes are blue.I’m looking for a family, could it be you?Meet Dexter! At 66 pounds and 2 years old, Dexter is a charming, gentle soul with a coat of white fur and the most striking blue eyes—one even has a tiny speck of brown, making him extra special. He’s a happy guy who loves to meet everyone, both human and dog alike. Dexter came to us a a found stray with a female dog about the same age and enjoys the company of other dogs and is non-reactive on a leash. We have decided that it is best that he be an only dog, at least as his first introduction to a home, until he becomes comfortable with his people. He has become familiar with the dog door and does his business outside. Like any good boy, he may just need some extra attention with this his first couple of days in his new home while he learns the ropes there. He’s a low-key fella who’s content to entertain himself with toys and chase after objects, although he’s not really into fetching. When out and about, he’s non-reactive, staying calm even when other dogs or people pass by in the yard. Dexter’s leash manners are excellent—he doesn’t pull and enjoys walks without the hassle. One of his most endearing traits? Dexter is a hugger! When he’s excited to see you, he wants to share the love, but he’s learning the “off” command and is making great progress. Dexter should thrive in a home with kids and another dog. While he hasn’t been around cats, his gentle nature makes us hopeful that he could fit in with the right feline friend. An absolute heartbreaker, Dexter is sure to steal your heart with his gentle demeanor and striking good looks. Could he be the companion you’ve been looking for?
