Lexie
Hello! My name is Lexie, 2.5 years old, yellow blonde girl, and I found my way into DLRR through no fault of my own. I was living in an apartment, and my family wanted more for me—more space, more enrichment, more of the good life a young Lab deserves. So the wonderful people at Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue took me in and promised me my very own “happily ever after.”
Because I didn’t get out and about as much as I should have, I can be a little unsure of new things at first. But once I see everything is safe and exciting… I’m all in for adventures. I am learning to trust and my bravery grows every day.
I have a big heart, a beautiful smile, and I absolutely adore attention from my people. I especially love kids and enjoy playing with dogs of all sizes. My hobbies include playing with toys, chasing balls, swimming, and going on walks—pretty much anything fun. I would love a doggy playmate and a swimming pool (yes please!). I use the doggy door to take myself outside as needed and I’m already working on leash skills, sitting pretty, shaking paws, and my crate routine. I need my person/family to be committed to ongoing training to help me learn all the things that will help me be the bestest girl I can be.
I sleep quietly in my crate all night long, but I’m still learning to feel comfortable in it when my people leave. Consistent crate training will really help me feel safe and confident. And just so you know… anything left on the counter is considered fair game in my book, so I’ll need guidance on those house manners, too.
I am a loving, playful, goofy, golden-eyed girl ready to blossom with the right family— ask to meet me if you are willing to put in the work.
