Chance

Chance

Meet Chance, the goodest boy ever! Chance hasn’t found a person he hasn’t wanted to meet!  And to prove he likes you he will smother you in kisses.  So many kisses!  Chance is a 9 year old yellow lab weighing in at 99 pounds.  Don’t let that age fool you, this is not your average senior dog, he is young at heart and has plenty of energy for walks and playtime.  Chance has so many great qualities about him, its hard to list them all.

Lets start with being in your home.  He’s a real good boy in the house and is completely trustworthy when left alone.  He does not counter surf and will only get on furniture if invited.  He eats nice and slow and will sit nicely for you when asked.  He knows how to use a doggie door.  When he gets excited, he loves to grab a stuffie and bring it to you.  He loves when you try to take it, and a game of tug o war ensues.  He loves playtime.  He also loves belly rubs.  Chance lives with 3 cats in his foster home and does amazing with them.  Even the cats get kisses!

If you like going for walks, you have a walking buddy.  Chance may have a hitch in his step, a little arthritis in his back leg, but this guy LOVES going for walks.  He walks 1-2 miles twice daily with no issues and wishes we could go for more.  Does he need a little work on his leash, manners?  Yes, but he learns very quickly.  He pulls to meet people he passes and wants to meet dogs too. Chance loves to run around the yard and will sometimes fetch a ball for you.  Chance rides amazing in the car.  He lays down in the back seat and never tries to be your front seat navigator.  He does need a little help getting in, but he is always up for adventures, whether it’s a patio for a meal or a trip to Home Depot.

He goes potty on command, knows sit, shake, down, and stay.  He loves stuffies, but does not destroy them.  His foster family has a pool, but he hasn’t shown any interest in it.  He drinks a lot of water, so he likes to go outside often.  A house with a doggy door or humans that are home a lot would be great.  But don’t worry, his bloodwork and checkup were clear, no diabetes or any other medical issues.  Chance does have some ear issues and will likely need a little maintenance.  He is a good boy for the cleanings.

Chance would do well as an only dog or with a calm confident dog buddy.  He would love to find a forever home for Christmas!
