Mya

Hi. My name is Mya (3) and I’m 9 years old but very active. I was an owner turn in due to their medical issues. My Foster Mom aka FosMom and I like nothing better than an early morning 2 mile walk through our neighborhood. I’m really getting good at walking on the leash. We walk a bit with 4 other people and a whole bunch of, well actually 3, little things that FosMom says are dogs. Due to my size I sort of lead the pack and they follow and don’t seem too afraid of me. I love saying hello to all the humans I meet especially if it means a head scratcher too. I do bark at the doorbell in case you don’t hear it and I do bark at people walking by on the sidewalk even if they’re not coming in to say hi to me.

I’m an early riser, which works out really good because so is FosMom even though she is retired. Right now I’ve got a nice big back yard with a grassy area that’s fun to run in and play catch. There is a doggy door but I really haven’t used it.

I can tell time as I know within 10 to 15 minutes when it’s time for my supper, breakfast is after I go outside after we get up. I wait for my bowl to be put down before I eat. Of course being a Lab I am a bit of a messy water drinker.

Naps are nice, near my FosMom, so she doesn’t get lonely. I do sleep through the night. My Kong with peanut butter as a sometime treat is a favorite treat. My favorite words are treats (I take them gently), walk, ride and a new one I’ve just learned Pupcup. They are very yummy. No counter surfing and I know basic commands also I don’t get on the furniture.

My only health issue is my daily thyroid pill and I’m spayed, chipped and vaccinated and ready for my forever home.

If anyone’s looking for a a laid-back companion who does like her exercise, I’m your girl.
