Hi, I’m Cooper! I’m a 7-year-old, 85-pound black Lab mix with a big smile and an even bigger heart. I’m a happy, lovable guy with medium energy — the perfect combo of chill and playful. I’ve been through a few recent changes, but I keep a sunny outlook on life and am ready for my forever home.

Let’s Talk Walks & Playtime:
I love going for walks and do great on a leash! I like to lead the way but won’t pull, and I always check in with you to see where we’re headed next. I’ve even tried a little agility training and really enjoyed it! I’m also a fan of hiking (especially when the weather cools down), and I love a good game of fetch — I’ll usually bring the ball back, but whether I drop it… well, that’s negotiable.

Social & Sweet:
I get along well with other dogs and have enjoyed playtime with my doggy friends, although sometimes I may get jealous since I want to be the center of your affection. I’ve seen cats and didn’t chase them, which seems to impress the humans. I’m a people-pup through and through — outgoing, affectionate, and always ready for belly rubs. I’m known for my classic “Lab Lean” and will happily roll over for tummy scratches.

Well-Mannered & House-Ready:
I’m housebroken, crate trained, and not destructive when left alone. I ride well in the car — I’ll hop in (though I might need a little boost with my “extra baggage”) and stay quietly in the back seat. I know “sit,” come when called, and respond well to guidance — especially when it’s kind and patient.

A Few Quirks (Who Doesn’t Have ‘Em?):
I do get a little excited when visitors come over and might jump up to say hi, but I settle down quickly with a gentle reminder. I have an independent streak and don’t love being pulled by the collar — especially at night when I’m winding down. If I’m comfy, just let me get up when I’m ready.

I’m working on shedding a few pounds and would thrive in a home that can help me stay active and healthy. Older kids would be best, just because of my enthusiastic greetings. I’d probably do well with canine playdates instead of full-time dog siblings, unless we’re a great match.
