Hey there! My name is Midnight and if you love black dogs, I’m the bestest there is! I’m a 1-year-old, 70 lbs, neutered male. I’m up to date on all vaccines and microchipped. 
My first year of life has been quite a ride and now I’m ready to settle down with my forever family. When I was just a young lad of 3 months, I ended up at a rescue called Puppy Luv. I was adopted by a wonderful senior couple who had just lost their Lab of many years, and they really needed a buddy. I was excited to go home with them. Sadly, I quickly learned my new dad had cancer, and I was his companion that gave him love and comfort in his final months. After dad passed, mom did the best she could to care for me, but it was challenging for her. We lived our life in a mobile home where there was no fence to contain me, so I rarely went outside, and we never went on walks. My mom was so smart she taught me to potty in my own room with tarp, pads and a piece of turf. I was very loved, and now I see that there is a whole world out there to explore and learn about, and I love it!

I’ve been with a trainer/foster, and she has taught me so much. I love to play with the other dogs and run around the yard. I’m good with people of all ages but out of exuberance, I may run over a small child by accident. At first, I was shy and withdrawn, but I’m gaining more and more confidence every day. She says I’m respectful and sweet. I don’t bark much but I will “woo” sometimes when I’m looking to play. I will sit nicely to get your attention. I’m learning obedience cues and exploring agility equipment. It’s so much fun! Give me booty scratches, and I melt right in front of you! 

I’m not destructive inside or out and I will sit to solicit your attention. And the most important part, and I’m so proud of myself and so is my foster/trainer, I’m about 90% potty trained to go outside now that I have a fenced yard. I’m almost there and I will continue to refine this skill.
